Yeah, the modular map tiles from Caltch are top-notch. I had planned to cut out 'puzzle pieces', but the 7-hex blocks seem to be the way to do things. The 49 hex blocks for open field battles. Might be worthwhile to do some 14-hex (double 7) patterns, but having a lot of 7's and maybe a single 49 may be the better idea.

Be easy to do, really. Print the cal-tech things, then laminate them. Then you've got a folder full of terrain you can pull out on an as-needed basis. Cut the edges so that they match the hexes, and you can join additional hexes to them. Be a great thing to have at the booth next year, although we'd have to draw our own maps.

Printed the cal-tech maps, going to put some transparent dry-erase paper on them. Then we'll see how they play.

Printed them, tried to laminate them, threw them out. The paper works well enough, but I wish I'd attached them to foam-core. Just not worth the effort.

It could be, if only to get some different environments. It would help to have some way to lock them together, a la catan.

Hexes of hexes, 7 or even 14 hex blocks, but with some way to interconnect them. Nice way to get variety in dungeons.

Works for dungeons, much less so for open fields.
