Harvest Dancer
The harvest dancers are created by farming populations that follow the Way of Red Grain. Dancers are made to protect farm lands and rural country-side from thieves and invaders. It is believed by their creators that they also bless the harvest and produce a greater yield from any crops they protect. Local inhabitants are never attacked by their Harvest Dancers, though the reason is unknown.

From a distance, Harvest Dancers appear to be a humanoid shape wildly dancing with lunging and flailing movements. As one draws near, it becomes clear that it is a scarecrow-like manequin made completely of tightly sewn cloth. The design and sewn face varies by crafter. The feet are weighed within by large lumps of poisoned meat and vegetables, and the movement is due to the rest of the construct being filled by a large swarm of flighted, stinging insects.

Dancers lurch toward trespassers leaping into the air and from side to side. Their entire body is a weapon and the construct flails against an enemy with hundreds of tiny, poisoned stingers protruding from the cloth. The worst attacks, however, occur only when the cloth has been torn by their enemies' weapons.

Ooh, the broad farmlands of the Tag clanhold would certainly have had these if I'd read about them sooner!

The staunching of the Poisoned Sting is a particularly nice little dynamic.

Wow! You proved it, I did say 'stauch.' I have been wanting to use these since I first came up with the idea, clear back when I was DMing D&D. Just never had a party in the right setting.
