Ruin Mage

Postby Maugh » Wed Dec 25, 2013 1:12 pm

Arting done while watching Raiders of the Lost Ark on Christmas Eve. I had to cheat and extend the legs via photoshop. Still shorting the legs on these.

Anyway, looking forward to coloring this one. Fairly happy with it.

cool design! the staff does vaguely remind me of the staff on the movie when he...yah puts it together haha! anyways. it will add alot to the pose and anatomy if you make the hip on the right, the one jutting out a bit, bigger and rounder :) good job.

Something on this is definitely not working. Feedback?

Shoulder is too high. It looks like she's hunched over, which matches none of the rest of her posture.

the shading on the armor, leather and hair is super good! so that's nice :) the skin is a bit too dark over all. Take back the shadows ( that could be a cool video game or song title LOL!!!!!). longer chin would be good. Take off the effect around the staff. The eye could be slanted down towards the nose a bit more.
The shading on the rest of it looks like blobby rather than foldy haha! straight, angular highlights and shadow would be better :)

Thanks. I'll take another crack at that. I think the eye and mouth are both probably a little big, too, and if I change the size and the angle on that, then it will go a long way toward helping it.

The shading being blobby and not foldy, is there any way you could elaborate on that for me? I see what you're saying, but I'm not quite sure how to fix that.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your help.

yah so just take off the highlights you got right now on the cloth and instead of drawing no name shapes with the lasso tool for the highlights and shadows draw rectangular or triangular shapes like so

just as a quick example haha!

And yah shrinking the eye and nose will help i believe, good call 8D
