Assemble a ship like galaxy trucker, with a layout like the arkham board--8-10 'rooms' with 2-3 'stations' on each of them, and keep characters running from stations to station to 'put out fires'.
Book of Encounters, // to Arabian Nights game? Or rather, a deck of them, similar to Arkham or the event deck in Galaxy trucker?

smells like a mecha game. I thought you would like that. =P. That game is infurating with more play, but oddly still really fun.

I tend to think of Mecha as 'suits' of armor and weaponry, rather than something operated by multiple people.
